Hey! I’m Markus Bauer. This is my personal home on the web.

I have more than 20 years of working experience on software architecture and design – both as a researcher and a practitioner. In my current job, I am responsible for the development of SaaS solutions and the underlying software platforms at CAS Software AG, Germany. SmartWe, a cloud based platform for business software, and CAS PIA, a CRM system for smaller companies, are some of my babies.

Before joining CAS, I lead the software engineering research group at FZI Forschungszentrum Informatik, Karlsruhe, and received a PhD in Computer Science from the University of Karlsruhe in 2005.

In my spare time I like riding the bike (mountain bike and road bike) and skiing. Taking photos, reading good books and cooking are my ways to make life a bit more enjoyable.
